This is the classic kitchen science trick. Big bubbles, small mess, and one tiny burst of magic on the counter.
01
What you need
A cup, some baking soda, a splash of vinegar, a tray, and a grown-up nearby. A drop of dish soap makes it foamier.
Two safe things can make a big reaction.
02
What to do
Put two spoons of baking soda in the cup, set it on the tray, then pour in the vinegar. Watch the foam climb out like a mini volcano.
03
Why it works
Baking soda and vinegar are friends that make tons of bubbles when they meet. Those bubbles are a gas called carbon dioxide.
Quick wins
Take these with you
- 1Two safe things can make a big reaction.
- 2Always do it on a tray, not on Mum's nice rug.
- 3Bubbles are gas escaping in a hurry.
